VISION

Life-Long Retreat

Kyab-je Dodrup Chen Rinpoche currently supports this community. Rinpoche is growing older. Nubri Lama wanted to solve this problem on a long-term basis. The expenses for the nuns’ and monks’ food, clothing, lodging, medicine and teachers, all need to be paid for.
The accommodations for the monks and nuns. These rooms have been constructed according to the Vinaya. They are a "Dom-Kang" wide and deep (about 6' by 6').

Nubri Lama once said,

"I have real courage, but right now, I am like a boatman who only has one broken oar. The lay practitioners who live in this vicinity have great faith but meager means. We have no patron. I am without means and so I am asking for your help."

Nubri Lama conceived a plan to create a fund to cover 80% of the monastery's cost from its invested interest. The remaining twenty per cent would come from the surrounding lay community and from offerings.

Since Nubri Lama's passing, Karma Tulku has assumed responsibility for the monastery. Nubri Lama had been the one to handle support for the Monastery, so Karma Tulku has no experience in these matters. Now, Tshog Dag Foundation's efforts to raise money for the Monastery have become even more crucial.
